Show-Me Abortion Petition Efforts Divided

Missouri Republicans took a loss this week in rigging ballot language.

However . . .

As of this writing . . . Missouri progressives have yet to rally behind a single effort to make abortion part of the Missouri Constitution. 

There's a 12 week option that has the support of GOP women who argue that some protection for "bodily autonomy" for women is better than nothing . . . However . . . Planned Parenthood and other progressives want nothing less than the 21 weeks and 6 days allowed by Kansas.

Here's a peek at the struggle so far . . .

"Many groups support abortion in Missouri, but no single petition has unanimous backing. After the Missouri Supreme Court decided Monday evening not to hear cases involving abortion ballot initiatives, advocates in support of those measures now will decide which to move forward with in the signature collection process."
