Olathe TB Outbreak Update

Context and public health news is worth a glimpse for this part of the Golden Ghetto:

According to the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the additional positive tests come nearly two months after the active TB infection was first diagnosed early in October.

Health officials say the six new positive tests were found among 314 possible contacts tested for the disease. Those who tested positive are currently all asymptomatic.

Latent TB infections are not contagious.

People who tested positive were notified with a call, while everyone else should have received negative results in the mail.
