Kansas City Shoppers Confront Holiday Season Of Violence

A spate of shopping mall gunfire leads us to an obvious conclusion that other local media outlets aren't talking about as we approach the holidays.

WORSENING KANSAS CITY VIOLENCE THREATENS TO RUIN LAST REMNANTS OF HOLIDAY RETAIL SALES!!!

Consider . . .

- This year the Country Club Plaza confronted a steady stream of bad news that involved rowdy teens, robberies and gun play.

- Independence Center is basically dead on its feet, drowning in debt that the most reliable patrons seem to only visit the mall in order to loiter and start gun fights with rivals

- Oak Park Mall is barely hanging on and now thieves are so brazen they're ready to battle with armed security guards

Long story short . . .

As always, TKC advises holiday season caution given that, traditionally, the level of local violence ramps up at the end of the year.

In fact, sadly, often we notice that only treacherous deadly Winter weather has helped us consistently cool down the violence of local crooks. Now . . . Even global climate change threatens to remove that icy relief. Meanwhile, local leaders struggle to address intensifying anger, lawlessness and gun play as another election year approaches.
