Kansas City Police: Child Died After Falling From Downtown Apartment Building

We start today with an important update on tragic case from yesterday. 

A couple things about the aftermath . . .

This might be something that we consider given the effort to covert so much downtown office space to residential units. 

More importantly . . .

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the youngster's tragic, fatal fall.

Detectives have confirmed the child fell from the apartment building, the circumstances surrounding how the child fell is still under investigation.

This case is being classified as a suspicious death investigation at this time.  No information about the child will be released until identify has been confirmed and family has been notified.

It may take several weeks for investigators to get reports from the ME Office and to follow up on otherleads during the course of this investigation.

Surveillance footage confirms the child fell from the building and the investigation is ongoing.

At the conclusion of this investigation, any potential criminal charges will be referred to the prosecutors office for review.
