Basically, the COVID cash was burned on bad policy and social justice politicking rather than investing in drivers and critical infrastructure.
Here's the word . . .
The transit authority is facing an $11 million shortfall in its draft budget for RideKC, the city's public transit system, and is exploring the possibility of reinstating $1 or $2 bus fares, with discounts available for vulnerable populations.
Don't worry . . . It gets worse . . .
Now that free bus rides have run their course . . . Kansas City has to confront the unethical no far streetcar dilemma that only survives by way of empty promises for an East-West extension that's has only been sketched on a cocktail napkin so far.
