Clay Chastain Seyz Mayor Q Must Resign

Apropos for #TBT . . . We check in with our 2nd favorite old school denizen of the discourse and his ongoing crusade to win the top office at 12th & Oak . . . Here's the word:

Activist Chastain press release: It's time Lucas resign and go where he is "needed most"...DC & the Woke-side of Woke...and make opportunity for a new Independent Mayor (Clay Chastain) to take the helm and place before voters his ...*Operation Rejuvenation Initiative* to rescue KC from a Sea of Crises.

KC's ship not only has not sailed, it's also sinking in the harbor with Lucas at the helm:

1. Out of control homicides-breaking a new record (so far) in 2023.
2. Pitiful voter participation-lowest level in history.
3. Distrust of City Hall-few care enough to vote anymore.
4. Fiscal irresponsibility-excessive borrowing (bonds) & failed (tax-abated) entertainment projects.
5. Decimated inner City-residents continue fleeing.
6. Oppressive taxation-high property taxes & regressive Etax.
7. Dismal transit system-lowest ridership level in history.

Not only that, Lucas lacks (political) common sense in... globetrotting to Europe to be seen attending a Chief's football game (while KC suffers record-setting homicides), and advising Kansas voters how to vote (when he is running a great Missouri City into the ground, etc.).

And to top off all that misery, Lucas' misbehavior in office prompted his political opponent to file two major lawsuits against him (and the City) for misconduct:
(1) 1983 Civil Rights suit in United States District Court (free speech) because Lucas and the City stopped Chastain from trying to question Lucas at a public forum (about his refusal to debate Chastain), then arrested Chastain and then (unsuccessfully) prosecuted Chastain for the trumped up charge of "Trespassing @ City Hall";
(2)  KC Circuit Court suit because Lucas & the City stopped, arrested and (unsuccessfully) prosecuted Chastain ("without probable cause") and did so from "malicious motives".

Lucas could do the best thing he has ever done for Kansas City...get out of Dodge now!
