A critical take first . . .
"Take a look at this KCATA and NNI plan. They want to turn this 16 acre shopping center into apartments, daycare center, training center and a transit station for charging electric buses. NKCSD will lose 80k in property taxes with this tax abatement."

Vacant Northland Kmart could be demolished for multiple uses under new developer - Kansas City Business Journal
The Kansas City Area Transportation Authority has contemplated reuses for a former Kmart property it acquired in spring 2022. Now, the local transit agency is negotiating agreements with an Overland Park developer that has drawn up early concepts for the property.
