In fact . . .
A TKC FACT CHECK is in order . . .
Kansas is ACTUALLY one of the most friendly places in all of the world.
Some might even call the politics of the Sunflower State progressive given the success of politicos like Kansas Rep. Sharice Davids.
However . . .
Old fashioned working-class mutual respect and the Christian golden rule ethic that is ingrained in most with Heartland values doesn't exactly make for good movie-making.
Like it or not . . . Slandering a whole state as "haters" is much more entertaining. As always, the bad guys are those who don't vote our way.
And so . . . It's no surprise that the ruffian politicos of a former local scribe and longtime TKC hater is featured in this opus.
Here's a preview for a movie that is eagerly awaited by an audience of tens . . .
"We talk to Academy Award winner Kevin Willmott and author C.J. Janovy about their documentary "No Place Like Home: The Struggle Against Hate in Kansas".
"The film offers unique perspectives on what it's like to be gay, lesbian and transgender in Kansas today. Kevin and C.J. talk about the wave of legislation that is coming from Topeka against gay and trans rights. "
