This week Mayor Q was busy making French connections and hardly anyone noticed. 

A junket in France sounds fun but it's mostly a pointless exercise in selfies and busywork meeting in order to justify a nice afternoon that MIGHT make up for hours upon hours waiting in airports. 

Meanwhile back in Kansas City . . .

INSIDERS WARN US THAT MAYOR Q NOW CONFRONTS HIS LAME DUCK GIVEN BIGGER EGOS ON THE COUNCIL LOOKING TO ADVANCE THEIR CAREERS!!!

The untrained eye might see a 8 vote majority but right now TKC wants to share a few obstacles in the path of Mayor Q going forward. 

U.S. Economic Slowdown Leaves Mayor Q With Less Cash To Giveaway

Politicos stay popular by their ability to award favors to their friends. 

However . . . 

Look around and there's not a lot of excitement about development in Kansas City. The Royals Stadium, South Loop & GreenLine efforts all look like silly schemes and not real plans. 

Even worse . . .

Less demand for office space and luxury housing inside the loop is leaving Mayor Q without those deep pockets that have funded his career so far. 

And then . . .

Freedom, Inc. Has Their Own Ideas & Agenda For The Future

More than any other political organization in Kansas City . . . Freedom, Inc. has a DEEP BENCH and plenty of talent that is more than capable of winning the support of the critical East side voting bloc. 

Freedom, Inc. sparked the ascendancy of Mayor Q before his council days but now . . . 

A worsening crisis for Black female employees at city hall along with longstanding frustration over East side development and economic participation as garnered momentum against the Mayor. 

The basics . . . Mayor Q would like to pick his successor. Freedom, Inc has other ideas.

Old adversaries now actively working against Mayor Q's team

This one is fun because it's true of all politicos . . . Any political career engenders opponents and over time they add up. 

Mayor Q has NEVER had a reputation for loyalty and now some of those old betrayals are starting to resurface. 

And yes . . . Just in case anybody is wondering . . . Here's our punchline and story that's going to play out over the next 2-and-a-half years . . . 

Kansas City will CERTAINLY witness a sexy & financially intriguing Mayoral scandal at city hall before the Q makes a hasty exit out of this cowtown and hopefully to the nation's capital -- A pragmatic mecca wherein effective fundraising forgives all manner of sins. 

In the meantime . . .

Our TKC blog community can only hope that local power players show some compassion for our city and highlight the Mayor's miserable record on violent crime as part of their litany of complaints.
