Kansas City Pet Project Rescues Pooch That Suffered Gunfire To Face

We're gonna try not to be too cynical here but this story deserves context . . .

Over the past few weeks the KC Pet Project has endured criticism about their role in Animal Control decline across the urban core. There are now wild packs of pit bulls that have attacked youngsters.

Moreover . . . This effort to rescue a poor pupper is nice but reminds us that most Americans don't get this level of care.

Real talk . . . In this current climate of American pessimism it's much easier to bestow kindness on animals in distress rather than work for humankind in need. Note . . . That's also a symptom of sociopath behavior according to some of the better TV drama we've watched.

But I digress . . .

At its heart, this is an inspiring story and shows very compassionate people working to save an innocent pooch . . . Check-it . . .

"Pretty was shot in the face at close range and arrived at KC Pet Project for emergency medical help. Our vet clinic team jumped into action to slow the bleeding and determine just how extensive the damage was. Her lower jaw was shattered and the bullet was still inside. They were able to get Pretty in stable condition, but her medical journey is far from over. She has been taken to Companion Animal Dentistry to undergo a specialty surgery to rebuild her jaw. This surgery will cost around $6,000.

"Our Animal Services team is investigating the case and are asking for the community to report any information on who did this to Pretty."
