Kansas City 2023 Homicides Hit #134 After Deadly Double Shooting

Once again KCMO is right on pace with tragic numbers of deadly confrontation that rival 2020 -- The deadliest year in our history.

Early this morning gunfire echoed through local streets and left two adult male victims dead. 

Here is the first report . . .

Homicide 3100 block Harrison

On 09/02/23 just before 4:45AM officers were dispatched on a reported sound of shots.

Upon arrival, officers located two adult males lying on the ground in a parking lot unresponsive, and suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS responded and declared both parties deceased a short time later.

A crime scene was located in the vicinity of both deceased victims.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene and will begin processing for evidence and speaking with potential witnesses.

Detectives do not currently have any persons of interest in police custody and this investigation is considered on-going.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department responded to a double homicide just before 4:45 a.m. Saturday in Kansas City, Missouri.
