Just before 9:30 p.m., two individuals who weren't at the game approached a gate at the stadium and began opening fire at a Kansas City, Kansas, Public Schools police officer, according to the KCK Police Department. KCKPS has its own operating police department.
The officer returned fire, causing the suspects to flee the scene to the north in a vehicle. KCKPD spokesperson Thomas Tomasic said there was about one minute left in the game when gunfire was exchanged.
