Kansas City Streetcar Lanes Stay Winning

Here's a (not so) great idea . . .

LET'S MOVE EASY ACCESS & PARKING FOR CUSTOMERS AWAY FROM STRUGGLING BIZ ON KANSAS CITY'S MAIN STREET!!!

Again . . . This is a fantastical notion which imagines easy access for hipsters looking to buy legal weed and a 10 cup of coffee amid a midday jaunt wearing some kind of silly hat.

For everyone else . . . It's motivation to find some place more convenient to conduct business.

Check the bad plan moving forward . . .

"The city council unanimously passed a resolution directing City Manager Brian Platt to work with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority and the Kansas City Streetcar Authority to design an exclusive lane. The resolution also includes a suggested 30 mile-per-hour speed limit. Platt must report his findings back to city council Nov. 1."

As the Kansas City Streetcar expands on Main Street, it may get its own dedicated lane

City Manager Brian Platt has until November to look into a streetcar-exclusive lane as it expands south to UMKC. Proponents say it would improve the efficiency of the streetcar.
