Jackson County Property Tax Relief For Seniors Predictably FAILS

A sign of hope during harsh times has been withdrawn. Or, at least, isn't happening any time soon.

Even worse . . .

The effort is likely to "die by one thousand cuts" and might end up as nothing of more value than a discount code. In the meantime, the courthouse remains flush with pandemic cash and dangling it in front of desperate constituents. 

Here's the sitch for now .  . .

The ordinance, at least initially, seemed to have strong support.

It now seems unlikely that property tax freezes for seniors will be realized anytime soon.

"There's a lot of devil's in the details in terms of how we make it work," Jackson County Administrator Troy Schulte said.
