Give us a chance to explain our concerns . . .
And, as always, allow us a digression . . .
When I was a kid monster truck competitions took the Midwest by storm and earned a place in popular culture on the low end.
Lil TKC was often adorned in a favorite Bigfoot jersey t-shirt and imagined that one day he would compete for glory in a monster truck competition.
And then . . .
Like most things . . . The fad quickly ended and now KC goes years without a decent monster truck competition.
Nobody knows the future, the very same thing might happen to lady soccer.
Right now . . . Only profits from the NBA serve to keep the WNBA afloat despite a lack of a dependable audience.
Similarly . . .
As a symbol of progressive achievement and sparking conservative backlash, maybe Megan Rapinoe did more to hurt women's soccer than to help it?!?! Consider: Soccer moms aren't 100% on board with DNC talking points and maybe, just maybe her antagonistic persona chased away many potential supporters . . . And their daughters.
Sadly . . .
Kansas City isn't going to rely on market research or consumer demand before endorsing yet another local stadium by way of EPIC taxpayer cash that is mostly unquestioned.
In the meantime . . . Our activist friends might admonish right-wing trolling that poked fun at Rapinoe's inglorious exit from the game she loved.
