Activist Clay Chastain Seyz Mayor Q 'Hollow' & He's 'Real Leader' For KC

Progress report . . .

The only man to ever win a citywide light rail vote has garnered more than 500 signatures for this latest transit effort and seems to be picking up steam.

Here's a glimpse at his latest effort and a message to the new council . . .

Activist Clay Chastain Press release: On their first day on the job, Activist offers a *Landmark Initiative* to the "most progressive council in the city's history". The hope is these newly elected officials will ditch (progressive) Lucas & put their focus on fixing the City itself.

He won. He's Mayor. He's a hollow Mayor (temporary, hid from debating his opponent & offers no vision-just 'progressive' rhetoric).
The losing candidate is KC's real leader with a real vision to reverse our City's decline.

I put the citizen-led Petition on hold to give peace a chance by.... "reaching out to the City and local officials to get their support/input" as suggested by Congressman Emanuel Cleaver's Chief of Staff (see email below).

Review: KC owns a "Walk score" of 35. That sad ranking reflects a car-dependent City with... worsening air pollution & congestion, few options to the car and a feeble transit system. Compounding that, KC has a transit-deficient new Airport and suffers from a raging homicide crisis that is devastating our Community.

The 3/8-cent (bus) sales tax (expires on April 1, 2024) is up for grabs. We have an opportunity to extend that tax to yield "Landmark" benefits to our Community.

"Landmark Initiative":

Funding:

A. Extend 3/8-cent (bus) sales tax for 25-years & impose a new 1/2-cent capital improvement sales tax for 25-years (Local Match).
B. Congressman Cleaver's office has indicated he will work to secure federal matching infrastructure funds, if an ("green transit") initiative is approved by voters (see email).

Multi-Modal Transportation Components:

(1) Use 1/2-cent tax & federal funds to construct 32-mile (Airport) Monorail System from KCI to... northland, NKC, Downtown, Union Station,18th & Vine, *Bruce Watkins Greenway* and SKC @ Bannister... & reconfigure Union Station into a Regional Transportation Center.

(2) Use 1/2-cent tax & federal funds to extend City's streetcar system east from the Plaza to serve the Eastside & KC Zoo (streetcars to run faster as a light rail-type system by employing dedicated lanes & signal priority).

(3) Use 3/8-cent tax to stabilize & improve the bus system, including new BRT routes & transitioning to Electric Buses.

(4) Use 3/8-cent tax for (Citywide) pedestrian / cycling trails (dedicated Greenways separated from traffic) to link neighborhoods and interconnect to rail & bus stations.

The Landmark Initiative (open to input) is designed to garmer voter support by... providing citizens with clean affordable options to the car, improving the living environment, resurrecting the Eastside, energizing the City with... new jobs, residents, affordable housing, mixed-use development & a stronger economy.

Please join me in a Call-in Campaign to the City urging support for this Landmark Initiative & placing it before voters.
