Like it or not . . .

Winning an election by 80 points mean the Mayor can do just about anything he wants and has a great deal of leverage when starting his new term. 

Mayor Q is leaning on appointments, council members and allies in order to quash longtime resentment against City Manager Brian Platt. 

Context . . .

At the end of last year it didn't help the current administration that veteran news man Chris Hernandez basically called out the guy's Pinocchio style of management.

And then . . . 

We were convinced the surprisingly buff dude was a goner when civil rights leaders demanded his dismissal.  

Nevertheless . . . 

Brian Platt proved strong & smart enough to outlast his critics.

Now . . .

It's very possible that this city hall team might stay together until everybody goes to D.C. when yet another "paradigm shift" changes politics across the globe and makes locals far more concerned about survival over low-rent municipal trickery.
