Kansas City Star Newsflash: Catholic Schools Aren't Fair!!!

Any youngster who has ever attended Catholic Schools knows intrinsically that institutional rules are arbitrary, subject to personal prejudice and quizzically backed up by the power of the Almighty bestowed upon clearly faulty Earthly rulers. These observations aren't news . . . In fact, the unfairness of Catholic schools provides a valuable lesson to students for which parents pay BIG BUCKS so that youngsters can understand the harshness and evil of the world in a relatively safe & consequence free environment.

For the uninitiated . . . This understanding seems cruel and like some kind of unnecessary burden enforced upon Christians that imposes guilt and self-loathing on a faith tradition that preaches love and compassion. But we are initiated, and Sister Marcella wants you to shut up and do your work.

And so . . . Catholics understand that an unimportant story of parochial school reprisal for public disagreements is just more mainstream media antipathy toward a religious practice that is a favorite target of corporate information outlets which helps distract attention from far more egregious sins than offending middle-class delusions of fairness . . . Check-it . . .

According to the letter, he’s being expelled because his parents . . . Have “stated both verbally and in writing you do not agree with nor do you support the teachings of the Catholic Church. After prayerful consideration and discussion among our school administration it is obvious we no longer have a partnership with you, since the values of your family are not in alignment with those of our school. Therefore, the school administration has made the decision to disenroll your child from our school.”
