The weekend starts with another gunfire death as the level of local violence remains at historic levels.
The quotient of local killing is nearly 30% higher than last year and outpaces 2020 numbers which were the bloodiest in KCMO's recorded history.

Homicide 3400 Roberts
On 7/28/2023 just after 5 pm, officers were dispatched to 3400 block of Roberts on a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying on the side walk suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. EMS arrived on scene and declared the victim deceased.
There is no one in custody at this time. The circumstances surrounding the homicide are unknown at this time.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene. They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.

There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.
We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
