
Back when people imagined that American borders still existed . . . This was a bigger deal.
Now, most of us understand reality . . .
Borders don't serve corporations and the current version of American capitalism, borders must fall.
That's a rough axiom to understand but, in practice, it holds correct for most Western economies.
Sorry but complaining about it on the Internets doesn't really make a difference and the GOP doesn't even bother to REALLY lean in to immigration as a wedge issue because the battle has mostly been lost.
Vehement argumentation against open immigration has now been mostly restricted to the dark web and the manifestos of racist mass shooters.
It's not all bad news . . .
Ethnic cuisine has never been better in Kansas City and for those with even a high school level understanding of Spanish . . . Roof replacement is one of the few costs that haven't skyrocketed.
Those who would offer some manner of unworkable and draconian solution are only relying on ignorance of their followers and don't really know much about macroeconomic or the rise of India's economy that will soon surpass China.
In the meantime . . . Here's a way that some of our more clever new friends will outsmart Missouri laws for the moment . . . Check-it . . .
"The ID would be free for all ages and administered by the Kansas City Health Department. Like a U.S. passport, the Fountain Card will be valid for 10 years for adults and five years for minors. Cardholders can use it to access water services, prescription drug discounts, community centers and library cards. It can also be used to open a bank account at WeDevelopment Credit Union in Kansas City."

The Fountain Card will let people who have trouble getting state and federal identification access water services, library cards, prescription drug discounts and other programs. Residents will just need to show proof of their identity and residency.
