Kansas City Bud Light Debate Double Take: Pete Mundo Vs. Jeremy Danner

This week it seems like arguing about an upcoming Travis Kelce commercial for Bud Light dominates the local discourse.

However . . . There's a cowtown political riddle inside this enigma that's worth figuring out . . . Let's follow the Twitter treasure trail . . . Ew . . .

This missive captures a social media moment in time that provides more context to the discussion . . .

UPDATE . . .

Pete Mundo offers more perspective on the exchange . . .

Thing of it is . . .

Whilst here at www.TonysKansasCity.com we actually disagree with Pete Mundo about Kelce's commercial . . . Jeremy Danner doesn't debate, he just trolls.

Quick tidbit about the Kelce angle . . .

It's all upside . . .

If Kelce helps to stop the bleeding for Bud Light . . . He is a BRAND SAVIOR by way of dumb jokes and swagger.

If the effort is a FAIL . . . Nobody will blame him for the debacle and he'll still walk away with what is likely an EPIC PAYDAY.

Meanwhile . . . Back in our humble corner of the cowtown discourse . . .

We've watched Jeremy Danner troll his political opposition in service of a C-list brewery in a way that's more embarrassing than inspiring.

Sure, we don't expect policy analysis on Twitter but Danner's social media claim to fame is mostly comprised of retweets and meme guffaws that don't even get poli sci majors riled up anymore . . . It's 30-something chatter that seems "brave" right up until the point where somebody starts talking about casualties in Ukraine or what "Bidenomics" really means . . . Hint: Higher taxes for your grandma.

Sorry  . . .

Progressive bar talk doesn't have any more virtue than other varieties of drunken rambling.

And whilst KCMO 610 talker Pete Mundo is forced to "flex" by way of tweet in order to garner publicity . . . We've heard his perspective on countless local issues wherein he's able to communicate complexity and understanding of public policy rather than relying on memes and talking points.

Danner doesn't do that . . . He just gets big mad and talks tough until his bar buddies bully JoCo suburbanites into submission.

Now . . .

There's a low-key effort to "advocate" against Pete Mundo and his radio station . . . Already that power move seems to have died on the vine whilst local progressives wait for the 2nd coming of Prez Obama or something slightly less humiliating than feigning excitement for Prez Biden's reelection campaign.

You decide . . .
