Kansas City 2023 Homicide #116: Police Investigate Man Gunned Down

The latest local murder pushes our homicide count forward again to start the week.

Homicide 3800 Block Of Bales

This morning about 11:15am officers were called to the 3800 block of Bales on a shooting call.

When they arrived officers were directed to an adult male shooting victim who was unresponsive down on the ground in front of a house there.

Officers summoned EMS into the scene who transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. The victim was declared deceased a short time later at the hospital.

Preliminary information is that the calling party heard the sound of gunfire outside, they looked out and saw the victim down on the ground and called police.
 

Detectives and crime scene investigators processed the scene for evidence and canvassed for witnesses.

Detectives are hopeful someone heard or saw something here this morning.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

1 killed in shooting Monday morning

One male victim was killed after a shooting Monday morning. KCPD received a call around 11:14 a.m. to the 3800 block of Bales Avenue.


Police respond to homicide Monday afternoon on Bales Avenue

Police did not release the extent of people involved or potential suspect information.
