Kansas City 12th & Oak Pay Raise: Council Member Profits Over People?!?

This week most voters politely ignored the implications of a generous salary bump for Mayor & council.

However . . .

TKC readers point out an inconvenient fact . . .

Incumbent council members voting for their own economic benefit betrays proletarian promises touted by KC Tenants and so many other progressive activists.

Here's the word from a trusted insider . . .

"I thought we were putting 'people over profits' according to the KC Tenants??? This move was pure politics and a clear indication that we're looking at one of the worst councils we've ever seen about to take control. The incumbents knew what they were doing and their salary increase signifies everything wrong with KC politics . . . This move was right out of the Pendergast playbook and should inform us that these folks aren't going to keep any of their promises."

Generally . . . With less than 13% turnout we think it's safe to assume that most residents don't have faith in the new council.

Moreover . . .

HAS ANYBODY HEARD FROM KC TENANTS SINCE THE ELECTION???

They've gone silent on the property tax crisis that's going to hurt renters just as much as home owners.

That's too bad because recent protests would have been a great opportunity to show solidarity against rising taxes across the political spectrum.

Meanwhile . . .

We'll wait and see if the new council continues to live down to expectations.

Developing . . .
