Jackson County Property Tax Appeal Distress As Recall Group Hits 1K

Before we get started . . . We take a moment to listen to the word from a trusted insider.

Here's some of what the insider witnessed . . .

"The scene at the property tax assessment appeal center is becoming very disheartening. During my wait I noticed a few seniors crying on their way out after reps weren't able to help their situation. These are people who are obviously at risk of losing their homes.

"My negotiation was a bad joke . . . The reps didn't want to admit any mistake and didn't offer much in the way of relief. That's what my neighbors are hearing as well.

"The assessment process creates a high pressure atmosphere and the situation looks like it's growing more dire . . . I have a feeling the B.O.E. is going to have to take on a lot of the burden in this situation because so many people have been disappointed . . .

"After witnessing all of this I can only hope that an elected official just can't persecute so many taxpayers without some kind of inevitable consequence. In my experience, voters won't tolerate this behavior for long."

To that end . . .

We notice an interesting surge of social media advocacy that is, in fact, taking hold at the grassroots level.

The Recall Frank White Group has now reached 1,000 members in less than a week's time.

If they let us join the group, we'll have even more to report on the process . . . But for now we are impressed with their progress so far.
