Council Dude Eric Bunch Promises 'Road Diet' World Without Car Crashes

Actually . . .

This move won't do anything but worsen conditions on local streets.

We have to be careful with how we phrase this one but . . .

It's fair to say that Council dude Bunch has an AMICABLE relationship with many of the groups who consult on this street work for hefty fees. In fact, it's a documented fact that the former council dude's career was spawned from Bike/Walk KC which competes on many of these bids. Of course it's all PERFECTLY LEGAL and we're all pure of heart thinking only of others first . . . But it stinks worse than roadkill.

We couldn't imagine that anybody would be so skeptical and unscrupulous that they would leverage political favors on the suffering of car crash victims.

To be fair, here's a more optimistic glimpse the effort . . . And we're all for protecting ice cream safety:

Councilman Eric Bunch said new legislation he introduced can prevent this from happening again.

"Under no circumstances should someone trying to get ice cream ever lose their life just walking through their neighborhood,” Bunch said.

If passed, the city manager would have to conduct a citywide road diet analysis.

That would include looking at streets with more than two lanes in each direction to come up with improvements.

The improvements vary, but it could include a reduce speed, bike lanes or street parking.
