Olathe, Kansas Police Bust Suspected Gang Of Youngster Kia Crooks

Over the past few months social media info has sparked rising local car thefts . . . Today there's hope of law enforcement push back.

Here's the sitch . . .

Officers located a 2020 Kia Optima with several people running on foot from the vehicle.

Police said the Kia was reported stolen out of Kansas City, Missouri.

The initial investigation ended with six juvenile arrests and the recovery of a second vehicle, a 2017 Hyundai Sonata that was reported stolen out of Overland Park, according to police.

Six minors arrested in Olathe in connection to Kia, Hyundai thefts in Kansas City-area

OLATHE, Kan. - Six juveniles were arrested early Monday morning in connection to multiple vehicle thefts in the Kansas City area. The Olathe Police Department said officers were conducting route patrols in the area of West Virginia Lane and Parker Street when they heard squealing car tires.

Six teenagers were arrested early Monday morning in connection to multiple car thefts in the City of Olathe. Police were conducting patrols in the 1000 block of West Virginia Lane when at 2:05 a.m. on Monday, an officer's attention was directed to the area of loud, squealing car tires.
