Nicer North Kansas City Stealing Royals

Let's be fair and start this out with a question . . .

WHY SHOULD KANSAS CITY ROYALS ENDURE HOBOS, HIGH CRIME & BAD PARKING ON THE EAST SIDE WHEN NORTHLAND PARADISE IS SO CLOSE?!?

To acknowledge our bias . . .

TKC contends that baseball is a dying sport and relieving taxpayers of this burden might sting but looks toward the future when the so-called American "pastime" fades even further into irrelevance.

Most importantly . . .

It's hard to argue that KCMO should bend over backwards to save a team that's on the way to losing 100 games and then some. Moreover . . . Nobody is ever going to call them the "North Kansas City" Royals. KCMO keeps the branding but ditches the responsibility.

On the other hand . . .

We should all realize that high crime and divisive politics likely helped push this franchise away.

As always, there's a lot more to unpack but for now let's review the pitch from the nicer side of the bridge:

Northlanders say time is money and they have the best site. They argue it can be developed faster and with better access to Kansas City’s highways.

"The location and the ability to get in and out of here is great,”  Clay County Commissioner Jerry Nolte said.
