Kansas City Wedding Gift Redux

June is the time when middle-class couples bother everyone with their love life.

Fun fact for close readers . . . TKC has never purchased a wedding present. EVAR. It takes a bit of patience but nearly every couple this blogger has ever met is typically divorced after about 8 years and then gifts become a non-issue.

Accordingly and amid the commodification of EVERYTHING concerning American life . . .

We kinda like this story if only because it depicts a couple still clinging to their glory days and willing to do a bit of extreme couponing together.

“They said that they had been going through their wedding memorabilia from 40 years ago,” said Derek McCann, Marriott’s Managing Director. “They came across a gift certificate that was given to them. The certificate said that the room rate they were given 40 years ago would be honored any night for the same $38/night rate they’d been given. They reached out and asked if there was any way that we could honor the certificate.”
