Tonight we share perspective as the next 72 hours will be filled with a bevy of Kansas City cheap talk from so many local politicos who will say nearly anything to garner the votes necessary to push them over the top.
In a low turnout vote, every ballot counts and so it's important to enjoy this moment when future elected officials are forced to delve into the muck of cowtown commoners. Most of us wont's see them again for another 3 & 1/2 years.
And all of this pathological cynicism serves only to reconsider another big promise that never happened.
Remember . . .
"KSDK reported a couple years ago that while West Virginia got the first test track, Missouri is still a very possible destination for the Hyperloop in the future. The designers still believe the geography of Missouri is an ideal location for this type of transportation system and there's enough business especially between St. Louis, Columbia and Kansas City to make it financially possible."
Still . . . It's probably best not to hold your breath waiting for it.
In West Virginia the hyperloop is also stalled.
Accordingly . . .
One of our BEST, BRIGHTEST & MOST KICK-ASS READERS sent us a meme reference just to put the sitch in perspective . . .
And so . . .
We can only hope that our fellow Kansas City voters take election talk, content and all manner of rhetoric with a bit salt, skepticism and levity. It'll be over soon and the results won't matter to most of us.
On the bright side . . . All of this inspires this inspires the TKC playlist tonight on the topic of dreams and other lofty notions cynically preyed upon by our betters in service of agendas that are so often crafted far, far away from Kansas City.
Let's get started . . .
We begin slowly but steadily with this classic Aerosmith which reminds us that Steven Tyler was a classically trained musician who decided to take a more AWESOME & much louder path . . .
We pick up the pace with this song from the 80s that has inspired a low-key online meme suggesting that Daryl Hall might have been EXCEPTIONALLY STIMULATED BY PEPSI PRODUCTS during this music video produced at the height of the go-go 80s.
This Green Day anthem is a bit more current and written about Billie Joe Armstrong's lonely days in the big city . . .
Here's something else wonderful that the Clinton family RUINED . . . This song was one of the most hopeful tunes every produced during the 70s but old school political junkies amongst us only remember the track as a dance track for a younger Hillary Clinton.
Finally, we finish with a song from the glory days of soul music that has always been one of our bittersweet favorites from the legendary singer Otis Redding who died far too young and wasn't able to enjoy to timeless success.
As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe & fun Saturday night.
