Kansas City Anti-Crime Programs Confront History Of FAIL

Once again, bloodshed on Kansas City streets hits HISTORIC levels and threatens another record-breaking year of killing.

Ironically . . . (NOT REALLY) . . . So many of our metro "thought leaders" are confounded by the rise in deadly crime which seems to correspond, correlate and coincide with progressive efforts to "defund" police.

Nevertheless . . .

This week law enforcement officials shared a "call to action" and politicos announced their ongoing commitment to fighting crime. Sadly, few details of the effort were shared with the public.

Instead . . .

What we have learned in the form of 12th & Oak legislation is that Kansas City is now prepared to spend 30 MILLION BUCKS in the name of "anti-crime" programs.

And here's our punchline for the morning . . .

KANSAS CITY ANTI-CRIME EFFORTS HAVE ALWAYS FAILED & WASTED MILLIONS WORTH OF TAXPAYER CASH ON ADMINISTRATIVE COSTS!!!

Let's take a quick trip down memory late for #TBT . . .

Jackson County's COMBAT is the biggest & oldest taxpayer supported ongoing anti-crime effort . . . The finances of this program are notorious for backing sketchy not-profits, political favorites and even played a small part in landing a former county official in the federal pokey.

Aim4Peace is a running joke and their continued efforts have been criticized by urban core leaders as a tacit form of patronage bestowed upon the politically connected willing to stump for council members.

KC NOVA . . . This program claims credit for an EPIC 2014 drop in homicide numbers . . . What nobody mentions is that the ethereal decline is likely to do a bit of crime reporting GENEROSITY when KCPD switched to a more strict adherence to the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program.

Moreover . . . KCPD leaders hated KC NOVA and the cooperation touted with the prosecutor's office was cancelled years ago as the program is mostly defunct.

Meanwhile . . .

Again, it's important for Kansas City residents to understand the context of the current homicide surge that's CLEARLY CONNECTED TO POLITICOS waging legal battles over police control and cash allocations that have, in fact, escalated in tandem with the historic crime surge.

Real talk . . .

Locals have LEGITIMATE REASONS FOR SKEPTICISM of technocratic promises to lower crime by way of think-tank approved social programs. Meanwhile, simply ask around urban neighborhoods and most home owners just want Kansas City to hire more cops.

Sadly . . . Amid years of debate . . . Neither politicos nor police leadership have made boosting local law enforcement a priority.

Developing . . .
