
Midweek deadly gunfire pushes Kansas City's murder count even higher . . . Here's the morning news update . . . As the homicide count continues to push ahead of 2020's historic pace.

Homicide - I670/Broadway
This morning at 5:38am, officers were called to I-670 Hwy and Broadway in regard to an injury accident. While officers were on their way to the location, a second 911 call came in regarding a shooting at the same location. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, an adult female, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition. A short time later, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to the scene. They will be processing the scene for evidence and canvassing the area for witnesses and/or video. I-670 Highway westbound is shutdown while investigators process the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 816-234-5043. Or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.

Deadly shooting shuts down portions of I-670 in downtown Kansas City
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Authorities have closed several portions of I-670 Wednesday morning due to a deadly shooting. Just after 5:30 a.m. Kansas City police were called to an injury crash in the westbound lanes of I-670 near Broadway Boulevard. When officers arrived they discovered a woman with gunshot wounds inside the vehicle.
