Insiders: Kansas City Mayor Q Unlikely To Finish 2nd Term

We've heard this one before . . . But the silly season sentiments seem to take on greater urgency this week.

The basics . . .

INSIDERS CLAIM MAYOR Q PROBABLY WON'T FINISH HIS FULL 2ND TERM GIVEN HIS RISING STAR STATUS AMONGST D.C. CIRCLES!!!

The basics of the argument . . .

Kansas City politics is a dead-end gig. Mayor Q knows that MOST people who hold the top job will never go much further than 12th & Oak. Congressman Cleaver is the exception that proves the rule but even his carefully crafted district is likely the only place where he can enjoy almost complete political dominance.

Even worse . . . Congressman Cleaver doesn't seem to be ready to retire any time soon and more promising politicos than Mayor Q have waited years to be next in line.

Looking forward . . . 2024 will be a tumultuous year and even the most skeptical political observers understand that A LOT is going to change on the national political stage in the next year.

Accordingly . . .

The Mayor's team has hinted that a high ranking appointment is the Mayor's exit strategy.

It's likely that 2025 or even December 2024 will see Mayor Q leave for D.C. permanently.

Amongst our local elite . . . This is already an open secret and that helps to explain why nobody opted to run in the current low-interest affair.

And so . . . Our current election now seems even less important given that insiders hint that local voters aren't that important in determining who holds power.

Developing . . .
