Actually, he has a point about low turnout . . . And here's the word as he builds up frequent flyer miles from Virginia . . .
Clay
Chastain press release: Foremost, I wish to sincerely thank the people
who voted for me in my election loss to Lucas. But do not despair. With
only 13% of registered voters voting, a biased media against me (led by
the Star & KCUR) and a cowardly-acting Mayor refusing to debate me,
the results were meaningless and no real indication who the majority of
everyday citizens wanted to be Mayor of Kansas City.
The appalling lack of voter participation (87% of voters were no-shows) is not surprising. While passing out campaign flyers, many told me they didn't even know about the election. No doubt because the media down- played it including the far-left media (led by the Star's Hendricks & KCUR's Janovy) who totally blackballed me. The scant turnout also signifies that most people don't really care anymore. Can you blame them? They don't trust City Hall; don't trust the manipulative media to truthfully inform them; and believe the whole political process is rigged in favor of those in control. Lucas refused to debate, and none of the hapless media were brave enough to approach our Emperor and ask him why!
As a result, there was little interest in this sorry election, and it was thus decided by a paltry number of voters (mostly composed of radical fringe groups...liberal blacks, Woke whites and people angry at me for not being able to reside in KC full time). Thus, the liberal biased media and the corporate establishment (behind (No debate) Lucas) got the result they wanted.
I know the limited number of people I encountered (passing out campaign flyers) unanimously agreed with my solutions to our problems and with my vision for Kansas City. I am not diminished whatsoever.
So take heart, supporters. The battle to save KC, may not be over just yet.
All we know for certain is that the 8% of KCMO registered voters voted for Lucas while overlooking these facts: Lucas cared more about his political-self than debating the issues before the people; Lucas did not keep his promise to reduce homicides; Lucas has his eyes on DC-not KC; and Lucas has no real answers to our problems or vision to prosper our City. His win is as hollow as is his sincerity.
But I am sincere. I have vision. And I will be back.
Clay Chastain
