Westport Legend Bill Nigro Might Finally Defeat Kansas City Liquor Cards

If you've talked to Westport impresario Bill Nigro . . . He might bend your ear about KCMO Liquor Cards which he has labeled "dumb cards" in a decades long crusade to end the pointless requirement.

His argument . . . It prevents quick employment, it's unnecessary taxation and it's redundant given that restaurants are already tasked with performing due diligence on new employees.

Now . . . 

After years of broken promises from politicos and tireless advocacy . . .

It seems that Mr. Nigro might finally be garnering a bit of progress.

And so . . . People who actually live & work in Kansas City should give him credit for an impending legislative move . . . That only took at least a quarter century to accomplish.

The KCMO City Council is poised to take up Ordinance No. 230419. If passed, the new law would make life a bit easier for the city's 8,000 bartenders, waiters and waitresses, and other bar and restaurant workers by removing the requirement to obtain a liquor license.
