Suspect In Deadly Shooting Of 6-Year-Old Evaded Jail By Way Of Jackson County Plea Deal

Thanks to TKC READERS who share CITIZEN JOURNALISM regarding the horrific backstory and bad policy that preceded tragic gunfire . . . Here's the word . . .

"A SUSPECT in a tragic shooting recently accepted a plea deal in early April in Jackson County relating to Unlawful Use of a Weapon charges and Armed Criminal Action charges he had for a 2020 shooting.  

"They pled him down to UUW Exhibiting a Weapon and dropped the Armed Criminal Action charge.  3-4 year’s probation was all he got according to Casenet.  He was also charged last year for felony Resisting Arrest and possessing stolen guns after a car chase with police.  

"He also pleaded guilty on that case and was given the same probation sentence."

"Had he been held accountable and given at least some prison time, that 6 year old would be alive today."

2 suspects found hundreds of miles away from KCK charged in killing of 6-year-old Sir'Antonio Brown

Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department say that two suspects have been arrested for the shooting death of 6-year-old Sir'Antonio Brown.20-year-old Lakevis Sloan and an unidentified 17-year-old were both taken into custody and face second-degree murder charges for the May 3, 2023 shooting.Sloan has been charged with second-degree murder, aggravated assault and aggravated endangering a child.
