The new 650,000-gallon aquarium at the Kansas City Zoo has a name: The Sobela Ocean Aquarium, the zoo unveiled Tuesday morning.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Kansas City Zoo announces the name of its new aquarium. The attraction will be called the Sobela Ocean Aquarium when it opens on September 1, 2023. The name was selected by benefactors Barnett and Shirley Helzberg to honor their grandchildren, Sawyer, Oliver, Benton, Elias, Leo, Amelia, and Arthur.
