Progressives Rally To Defend Guv Kelly After Black Kansas Lawmaker Smacked Down

Again . . .

What our progressive friends don't want to talk about . . .

Kansas state Rep. Marvin Robinson was called a racial slur on the floor of the legislature and shunned by his colleagues simply for voting his conscience.

But here's the bigger problem that NOBODY wants to talk about . . .

ABORTION & TRANS RIGHTS ARE NOT PRIORITIES IN URBAN COMMUNITIES!!!

Residents in The Dotte aren't wild about abortion pushed on their neighborhoods as a healthcare "solution" and real world perspectives about the trans issue from Rep. Robinson's district might shock some of his progressive colleagues in Lawrence and Johnson County.

Again . . .This is a very real "robust conversation" that Kansas Democrats don't want to have . . . Even if it's a debate that we should probably address NOW or in 2024.

In the meantime . . .

Here's one more look at "progressives" targeting a Black lawmaker who strayed off script . . . Check-it:

"While it’s true that Kansas doesn’t normally award even such paltry funding in such vague terms, or without any vetting of how money is to be spent, this veto was still more about payback than process, and rightly so: Democrats are so few in number in Topeka that the only power they do have is in sticking together. And as in every party and political body, unity is encouraged through the disbursement of sticks and carrots."

Topeka shocker: Kansas state Rep. Marvin Robinson learns that politics happen there | Opinion

In all of the countless retellings of the legend of Faust, the lesson is that those who sell their souls never quite get what they bargained for. Poor Kansas state Rep. Marvin Robinson, so shocked that politics happen in Topeka, is the latest to learn how this works, and also how it doesn't work.

Kansas governor cooked renegade representative's goose. Like it or not, that's how politics work. - Kansas Reflector

Gov. Laura Kelly, by all appearances, dished out a chilly bowl of revenge to Kansas City Rep. Marvin Robinson on Monday. Robinson, in case you stayed sane and didn't follow the Kansas legislative session this year, abandoned his Democratic colleagues to vote for a host of hard-right Republican priorities, such as banning transgender girls and women from school sports and restricting access to food benefits.
