Kansas City Star Helps Politico Explain Why He Used 'House Negro' Racial Slur

Fact that needs to be remembered . . .

The Kansas City Star shared their platform in order to help an elected official repeat a racial slur he directed at one of his colleagues. 

There's an argument that this helps explain context . . . HOWEVER . . . 

SHOULD JOURNALISTS HELP EXPLAIN RACIAL SLURS THROWN AROUND OR MERELY REPORT THE INSULT AND DISMISS IT AS GARBAGE??? 

Our vantage . . . 

From our view there's really nothing interesting about political trash talk and we expect better of elected representatives.

However . . . 

Allowing this politico to DOUBLE DOWN ON RACIALLY CHARGED LANGUAGE sets a dangerous precedent that belittles everyone.

Remember that a Kansas Republican graveled down this racial insult . . . Meanwhile, the newspaper revels in it . . .

"We in the Black community know that there is a history of what we would term “sellout” behavior. It’s time that we call a thing a thing, and we can’t afford to let it continue. The sacrificing of the many, in exchange for the fame or fortune of one. I spoke up . . ."
