Or maybe . . . The idea of reparations falls apart given that we're living in an increasingly MULTICULTURAL SOCIETY wherein the false dichotomy betwixt Black vs. white isn't so important any longer.

The first presentation covered empty U.S. Federal Government promises at the end of slavery up until a proposal just last week from Missouri Congresswoman Cori Bush that $14 trillion in reparations would be needed to make up the generational wealth gap between Black and white.

According to the KC Reparations Coalition it would take 228 years to catch up without special policies benefiting the Black community.

Commission holds first meeting to determine reparations in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City took its first steps Tuesday toward addressing the history of slavery and oppressive policies affecting Black people. City Council approved establishing a 13 member Mayor's Commission on Reparations earlier this year. Tuesday that commission had its first meeting on the politically charged issue.


Kansas City officially begins a 'transformative' effort to study reparations for Black residents

The Mayor's Commission on Reparations met for the first time on Tuesday, May 23 at City Hall. The group's task is to study how slavery and racial segregation policies over the last century harmed Kansas City's Black citizens in areas such as education and housing.
