Unnoticed by most political hopefuls this election season . . . The spate of killing in Kansas City continues unabated.
Friday night two late deaths were reported to start the weekend news cycle.
Sunday morning, news of a homicide in the parking lot of an abandoned Applebee's emerged during the midday.
Sunday evening another two deadly crime scenes are under investigation.
And so . . .

Here's the first Sunday homicide report . . .
56th & Park Homicide 
On 05/28/2023, just after 10:30 pm. Officers were dispatched to 51st and Park on a reported sound of gun shots.  While enroute the call was upgraded to a shooting at 56th and Park.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying in the street suffering from apparent gun shot wounds. Officers began life saving measures until EMS arrived on scene and declared the victim deceased.
There is no suspect information available at this time. The circumstances surrounding the homicide are still being investigated.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.
Anyone with information is asked to call homicide detectives at 816-234-5043. Or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.
There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.
We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

UPDATE: Here's the report from another homicide scene on the 5200 block of Walrond . . .
5200 Walrond Homicide
On 5/29/2023 at just before 12:30 am, officers were dispatched to the 5200 block of Walrond on a reported medial call. While enroute the call was upgraded to a dead body.
Upon arrival officers located an adult male suffering from unknown bodily trauma inside a residence. Officers rendered medical first aid. EMS arrived on scene and declared the victim deceased.
There is no suspect information available at this time. The circumstances surrounding the homicide are still being investigated.

Kansas City police investigate two overnight homicides blocks apart
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police are investigating two homicides that happened overnight Sunday and Monday of the holiday weekend. Just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, officers were called to E. 51st Street and Park Avenue on a report of sounds of gunshots. The call was upgraded to a shooting shortly after.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man is dead after being shot late Sunday night, the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department said. Officers were dispatched to 51st Street and Park Avenue around 10:30 p.m. after the sound of gun shots was reported in the area.
Kansas City police investigate two homicides overnight
Kansas City, Missouri, police are investigating two homicides. Police said just after 10:30 p.m. Sunday, someone shot a man in the area of 56th Street and Park. Medics pronounced the man dead.Later, police were called to the area of 52nd Street and Walrond.
Man found dead Memorial Day near previous homicide - both in KCMO
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - About a mile northeast of an apparent murder on 56th and Park Street, Kansas City Police found a second homicide in a matter of hours at East 52nd Street and Walrond Avenue. It happened in the early morning hours of Memorial Day.
