Kansas City Playlist: Life Lessons Learned From King Chuck

Just a couple of things or our late night guests . . .

First and foremost, THE VERY BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS sent us this message of hope that we want to share with any ladies who might mistakenly stumble upon this horrible, horrible blog . . .

That's good stuff.

And then . . . Allow us a quick personal aside . . .

Even if it's all just ceremonial . . . The fact that there's still a "King" in the Western World clearly demonstrates that we're not as advanced as we'd like to believe . . . The whole stupid idea of monarchy is based on silly myths that God bestowed His authority upon a select group of people who are seemingly entitled to leadership thanks to ancient covenants that aren't backed up with any proof, facts, science, data or even a selfie.

Of course we all know the whole thing is a scam . . . But until very recently the idea of monarchy was backed up with murder, theft and all manner of military power moves.

Anybody who wants to argue about the "civilization" that the British Empire brought the world doesn't know much about the Opium Wars or they haven't talked to an Irish dude

Of course . . . We're all entitled to our superstitions . . . Like the designated hitter rule or fidelity within the confines of marriage.

Still . . . For TKC, the monarchy is scary if only because it demonstrates how easy it is for millions of people to play along with something they know is absolutely fake.

Quote me on this . . .

There is no such thing as "royalty" because everyone poops

Finally . . .

The only real Kansas City connection to this drama is our losing home team that's now amongst the worst in baseball . . . And, of course, Crown Royal liquor stores where the hobos are bilingual and show us that even the downtrodden are forced to quickly adapt under tough circumstances.

And all of this inspires our www.TonysKansasCity.com playlist tonight . . .

We start with a song familiar to baseball fans which might or might not spark memories of 2015 glory days for Kansas City . . .

Saturday night nostalgia brings us back to this 1990 classic for everyone over 45 . . .

A somewhat recent favorite tune that's just a bit better than so many "girl power" tracks . . .

One of our favorite hip-hop anthems that TKC memorized at 10 years of age . . .

Another classic tune from a local favorite and something that your grandpa probably listened to on AM radio . . .

Our list dedicated to King Chuck wouldn't be complete without this 80s anthem . . .

And finally, there is only one king that Americans will acknowledge . . . His name was Elvis and this is the best, corniest clip we wanted to share in his honor . . .

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a safe & Saturday night . . .
