Lorenzo Cain was honored by the Kansas City Royals today as he signed a one-day contract so he could retire with the team. A ceremony was held for the former speedy centerfielder before the Royals' matchup with the Oakland Athletics.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Severe storms have wreaked havoc north of Kansas City today, producing numerous tornado warnings and reports of damage across several counties. Grundy County Emergency Management tells KCTV5 that Wesley United Methodist Church in Trenton, MO, has damage to its roof. In downtown Trenton, windows were blown out of several buildings.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A driver is in critical condition after traveling off Manchester Avenue and overturning their vehicle Friday night. A white Ford F150 was traveling northbound on Manchester Avenue and "failed to negotiate" a turn onto Stadium Drive. The vehicle then left the roadway and overturned, per the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.
