Kansas City Must NEVER Accept Blame For BAD TRAFFIC DESIGN At New Airport

Sure . . .

The new airport has nice restaurants. But architects of this hot mess missed a far more important detail.

NEW KCI FAILS IN TERMS OF TRAFFIC, PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION ACCESS!!!

So tell us . . .

What's more important about a new airport??? Dining options, art, gender-affirming restrooms or actually moving travelers around safely and efficiently???

Sadly . . .

THE ANSWER TO NEW KCI CRITICISM IS TO BLAME RESIDENTS RATHER THAN LACKLUSTER DESIGN THAT OVERLOOKED THE NEEDS OF KANSAS CITY!!!

Right now this is a car town: Parking and drop-off/pick-up efficiency at the airport is of prime importance. As this city grows we need to have better options for mass transit . . . New KCI has NONE OF THAT. It's a backward design that's just a poor, smallish copy of bigger/better airports.

Again . . . Our blog community warned that this kind of losing trade-off was in store . . . Instead, developers fought over juicy contracts, power and prestige whilst forgetting about service to the people of Kansas City.

Now . . . The bitter public debate is against anybody who would dare complain about the abysmal result and sketchy traffic problems that await us throughout the foreseeable future.

Here's a glimpse at how New KCI and MSM attempt to shift blame . . .

"There were multiple vehicles sitting and waiting in the pickup lanes, like we used to do. There were no police in sight, only a few young men in orange vests waving wands directing traffic — and being completely ignored. Instead of getting people to move, they were trying to move cars forward to make room for more."

Drivers ignore traffic attendants at KCI. Here's how to fix the airport pick-up mess | Opinion

I just returned from Chicago to our new airport. I was looking forward to seeing how organized the pickup situation would be with traffic enforcement officers keeping it flowing. It was 4:30 p.m., so not a late hour.
