Kansas City 2023 Homicide #61: Deadly Gunfire Erupts On Drury


The local quotient of killing continues to spike.

Thankfully, a brief pause in the homicide spike now puts us below 2020 numbers but still outpacing last year's count.

Homicide 8600 blk of Drury

This afternoon just after 12:45pm, officers were called to the 8600 block of Drury Ave on a disturbance.  Upon arrival officers located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the apartment complex parking lot.  There were citizens providing CPR to the victim and officers immediately took over until EMS arrived.  EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Personnel have responded to the scene.  They will be processing the scene to recover any evidence and speaking to any potential witnesses.

Anyone with information is asked to call detectives at 816-234-5043. Or if you wish to remain anonymous you can do so by calling the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS.  There is a reward of up to $25,000 for information provided to TIPS which leads to an arrest in the case.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- Kansas City, Missouri Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that left one dead Saturday afternoon. Officers responded to a disturbance call around 12:45 at the 8600 block of 86th and Drury Avenue and located the victim, an adult male, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds in the apartment complex parking lot.
