Irresponsible KCUR Seyz Socialists Acquire Guns Against Right-Wing Threats

Once again our betters disappoint with their journalistic offerings as they delve into culture war trolling, hyperbole and outright socialist advocacy.

Even worse . . .

PROGRESSIVE LOCAL PUBLIC RADIO "REPORTING" IMAGINES POLITICAL GUN VIOLENCE AMID THE CURRENT & HISTORIC KANSAS CITY HOMICIDE SURGE!!!

Many of us don't have to imagine local violence . . . We hear gunfire & police sirens all night. Meanwhile, the chattering class at KCUR and two silly people they interviewed show a shocking ignorance of real life confrontation and how/why it's always best to avoid a fight rather than gear up and anticipate gunfire over something as STUPID as low turnout elections.

For everyone who has ever accused our blog community of clickbait . . . Consider that this kinds of "journalism" is maybe the most irresponsible thing we've ever seen from a local news outlet and a sign that KC Public Radio might be every bit as awful as Elon Musk claims

I guess the hypocrisy is the worst thing of all . . .

Progressives have long admonished right-wing "gun nuts" and their often hilarious reasoning the leads to padding the profits of firearm manufacturers . . . And now . . . The left end of the radio dial is basically running a mirror version of the same kind of story that we snicker at on NewsMax.

Still . . .

It's easy and fun to get angry but instead we think that the reporting reveals yet another underlying weakness of the donation-based model for news . . . Most audiences wouldn't stand for this kind of tacit encouragement of prep for political combat.

However . . .

Only progressives with deep pockets will support this garbage . . . And, in doing so, they chase away audiences who might not approve of progressives escalating culture war with gun play.

Again . . . As always . . . We share their side of the story . . .

The decision to start classes in gun safety and save up for a firearm because they felt an increasing need to defend themselves against a growing attitude of hatred and discrimination toward people like them . . . Identifies as non-binary and as a socialist. They say recent anti-LGBTQ legislation in Kansas and Missouri, and the police response to Black Lives Matter protests, has terrified them.

These young Kansas Citians are arming themselves against the rise of far-right violence

Gen Z has the lowest rates of gun ownership in the U.S., but young people like Lydia Kidder and Ryan Whelan are the exception. The Kansas City couple say they've lost faith in elected officials and law enforcement to keep them safe, and are worried about white supremacist groups like the Proud Boys.
