There's not a lot of sympathy for this mistake if only because the guy gets paid to talk and this seems like a MAJOR UNFORCED ERROR.

"In the segment, Oakland Athletics publicly denounced longtime broadcaster Glen Kuiper appeared alongside former A's pitcher Dallas Braden and told the audience they visited the city's Negro League Museum earlier in the day. However, he seemed to trip over the word "Negro," and the result came out as a racial slur."

"I said something that didn't come out quite the way I wanted it to. I just wanted to apologize if it sounded different than I meant it to be said."
