Arizona Coyotes Coming To Kansas City?!?

Once again Downtown Kansas City cheerleaders are planting a rumor and hoping that hype turns a dream into reality.

However . . .

Smarter people are skeptical.

Here's a more sober look at the situation despite "short list" online rumor mongering . . .

"For all practical purposes, this is the final year of the Coyotes in the Phoenix market, and should they relocate, two possible venues are on the horizon. One would likely be Quebec City, where a new and NHL-ready arena is in the finishing stages of construction. The other possible location could be Hamilton, Ontario. For that to happen, the Leafs and the NHL would have to agree to settle territorial issues."

Coyotes' arena plan in Tempe rejected by voters

The Arizona Coyotes' plan to build a new arena in Tempe as part of a $2.1 billion entertainment district was rejected by voters on Tuesday, and the team said its future "will be evaluated by our owners and the National Hockey League" in the coming weeks.


Kansas City May or May Not Be Ready for Coyotes, Relocation

Kansas City had a brief fling with the NHL nearly 40 years ago, and has been on the expansion/relocation radar screen occasionally since. Now, there is increased and renewed speculation that the city, again, is ready for the NHL, and the Phoenix Coyotes are mentioned prominently in future plans.

The Coyotes needed voters to approve three separate propositions, and all three were voted down: "We are very disappointed Tempe voters did not approve Propositions 301, 302, and 303," Coyotes president and CEO Xavier A.
