Worst Kansas City Week In Review EVAR

Let's serve this as a TKC praise sandwich . . .

There is no denying that WIR is an important platform and offers a vital service for the Kansas City discourse.

However . . .

AT A TIME WHEN KANSAS CITY DESPERATELY NEEDS HONEST DISCUSSION OF THE CHALLENGES THAT CONFRONT THIS COWTOWN . . . THIS SHOW SEEMED MORE LIKE AN ANGRY GROUP THERAPY SESSION!!!

Without question  . . .

Dia Wall doesn't have serious opinions about the news. Her tone is more conversational and crafted for commercial audiences rather than viewers who really care about the policy and discourse of Kansas City. A great many of her statements were speculative, mischaracterizations or simply incorrect.

How weird of a show is it when Mary Sanchez is the voice of reason???

Dave Helling had a few good points about the teen shooting if only to serve as the downer of the group. Even if his delivery was somber, he is correct when he remarks that the policy implications and consequences of a Kansas City teen shooting are minimal to zero.

Eric Wesson serves as a critical link to urban leadership and community sentiment . . . He deserved more questions.

And what stands out to us . . .

At a time when KC needs reasonable interaction between political perspectives about a tragic story that has been irresponsibly used as a partisan rallying cry . . . There wasn't any conservative on the panel.

That's our view . . . Check the description and the link to the show . . .

"Nick Haines, Dia Wall, Dave Helling, Eric Wesson and Mary Sanchez discuss the global attention and response to the Ralph Yarl shooting case, Missouri's stand your ground law, Kansas City's escalating homicide epidemic, Missouri becoming the first state to restrict transgender medical procedures for children and adults and the changes proposed by Mayor Lucas to revamp KCMO election processes."
