Here's part of a note sent our way that questions a sketchy plan currently under consideration amid the not-so-inspiring leadership of the council dude . . .

"Another Endeavor that may be seeing momentum is the reconstruction of Barney Allis Plaza. The Plaza and its underground garage that opened in 1955 are in dire need of repair or replacement. The city is proposing to shift to 7.5 million in surplus funding from the Midtown tax increment financing plan for design work for the estimated 112.4 million dollar project -- The Midtown TIF was used to help build Costco and home depot near Linwood and Main."

Barney Allis Plaza Rebuild Plan Has $112.4M Price Tag

Almost three years after launching its search, the city now has solid design plan and price tag for reviving the crumbling Barney Allis Plaza, but appears to be no closer to figuring out how to pay for it.
