This report about the KCMO Super Bowl Parade Police Defund is worth repeating if only because KICK-ASS INSIDERS sent the note our way after initial reporting.
The upshot . . .
CHECK KCPD ATTEMPTING TO COLLECT CASH FROM MAYOR Q!!!
Behind the scenes word:
"Mayor told Chief Graves he would pay it out of a fund that, we found out doesn't have any money in it. A sports-related city fund."
It's a polite letter but embarrassing for everybody nevertheless . . . Here's the highlight and then the whole thing . . .
"The Department drafted a plan the ensured both the field and the parade was adequately staffed. To do this, the parade required a total of 805 law enforcement personnel. A combination of 503 on duty and off duty KCPD members and 275 from our regional partners.
"By all accounts, the parade and events that preceded and followed was a success. In order to provide this safe and enjoyable experience, the Department incurred $200,400 in expenditures.
"The Department continues to request reimbursement for expenditures as referenced above. This as an unanticipated and therefore, unbudgeted expense."
